Our Story
One of my earliest memories is of taking long walks with my grandfather, listening to his stories. When I was around six, he fell ill and was confined to our home. Our walks became slower and shorter, and I helped him when he stumbled. Along the way, he taught me that compassion and responsibility go hand in hand — and that every act of kindness, even a simple smile, can make a difference.
The Kunjunny Thampuran Charitable Foundation was founded to honor the life and legacy of my grandfather — a devoted teacher and a deeply caring person. Even as a child, I realized that care is not just about medicines or hospitals; it’s about empathy, presence, and understanding.
They say necessity is the mother of invention — or, in our case, intervention. When my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia, we struggled to find trustworthy and competent home-care. It made me realize how urgently our society needs quality, compassionate assisted healthcare for our loved ones.
